Coolie No.1: Is the Film featuring Sara & Varun to get an OTT Release?
It was 1st May 2020 when the film Coolie No. 1 was supposed to release, but with the lockdown, the makers pushed the theatrical release. However, we still see no signs to get the theatres open in the coming future, hence it is obvious for the makers to find some solution. As per the recent buzz, the makers are now planning for an OTT release. Yes, you heard it right, sources close to the makers feel that one cannot wait that long to release the film.Â
Although one is expecting to see things turning normal in Jan 2021, yet is not clear how things would go in the coming days. Hence the sources close to the film claim that it is among the biggest budget films in B Town by Vashu Bhagnani, hence they are relying on an OTT release to get the maximum on return of investment. However, the exhibitors are not happy to hear that the film will get its OTT release since they will lose their share in a big way.Â
If things go smooth, the makers are eyeing on the Diwali slot this year to release the film all across the country. The makers feel there are many more changes to happen to see any film releasing in the theatres and multiplexes. It will take time to see the cinema halls to open in full capacity. They feel that by going with the theatrical release, they are going to have a loss making preposition. Hence they are planning for OTT platform release and if things would go smooth, it is expected to release on Amazon Prime Video.
