Mega Blockbuster: Deepika Padukone and other celebs teamed up not for a movie, but for Meesho’s Ad
Mega Blockbuster was promoted by several celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Kapil Sharma, Rashmika Mandana, and others recently. Fans assumed it was the new upcoming project bringing different celebs together. However, It looks like they tried playing a big April-fool in September.
The poster of Mega Blockbuster starring different celebrities with the 5th Sept trailer release announcement was actually about the e-commerce store Meesho’s ad. These stars collaborated with the brand as a part of paid promotion.
The trailer was released recently as per alert date 5 September. In this trailer video, you will see Deepika, Ranveer, Kapil Sharma, Rohit Sharma, and other celebs talking about the Meesho Mega Blockbuster sale. Look at the trailer shared by Ranveer Singh on his Instagram handle.
Well, It was a great trick and we have to admit that the company’s idea of bringing stars together in an advertisement is indeed creative. But, was this attempt to keep it secret before revealing the trailer successful? Not exactly!
We go to know it bu our insider sources and another hint came as confirmation when Saurav Ganguly tweeted on Social media. He copied and pasted the company’s message directly forgetting to remove the brand name. Ganguly’s Twitter post read: “*Post Copy*: It was fun shooting for it! My new Mega Blockbuster is releasing soon! #TrailerOut4thSpet #MegaBlockbuster. *Please ensure that the Meesho brand name or Meesho hashtag is nowhere mentioned in the September 1 post. (sic)”.

As soon as netizens noticed this blunder, it made a huge trend on Twitter. People were quick to understand that it was not a movie but Meesho’s ad campaign.
