Maska Web Film Review: Get Ready to be Happy in The Lockdown

maska

As the new web film Maska is ready to stream on the popular OTT channel Netflix, it would be interesting to catch the review. The web film has Prit Kamani, Nikita Dutta, Shirley Setia, Manisha Koirala, Jaaved Jaaferi in the lead roles, while it is directed by Neeraj Udhwani and it is produced by Seher Latif, and Shivani Saran. Talking about the plot, it revolves around a Parsi Teenager called Rumi and Mr. Firozsha Bagh. He aspires to be in Bollywood and calls Boman Irani his inspiration.

He leaves his home against the wishes of his mother who wants him to pursue the legacy of their family business, which remains the iconic Rustom Cafe – a coffee chain in Mumbai city. He starts living with his girlfriend in Andheri and starts his struggle to become an actor. He then comes across a director who is struggling to get funds for his film while giving auditions to different places. He then plans to finance the film by selling his cafe and thus returns home saying that he will join his family business. So, what goes is interesting to catch.

The film may fit with the usual story but the modern touch it has impressed the audience as it has many realistic touch in it. One may find the dish to be old but the tadka is new and fresh that makes the film enjoyable. The screenplay seems cool and grips the audience. The track written is cool and so is the music that comes perfectly clubbed with the screenplay. However, the way the writers have exaggerated the drama seems unnecessary.

Talking about the performances, Manisha has nailed it with her incredible performance with her cool Parsi accent. She looked excellent in her Parsi mother role. Her accent, hand gestures and expressions have perfectly matched the character and thus proves treat to see her on screen. On the other side, Prit Kamani is charming in his role while Shirley Setia looks cute and her performance was natural. Nikita Dutta is impressive as seen in Kabir Singh despite the small role. The direction by Neeraj Udhwani too remained good despite trying this for the first time.

Maska The Final Verdict

In the times of lockdown, web based films like Maska comes as a ray of hope. By avoiding all such issues, you need to make everyone happy.
