Jawan Emerges as the Top Indian Film on Netflix, Garnering Over 3.7 Million Views; SRK Thanks Fans

Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” has shattered box office records, establishing itself as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. With over Rs 1100 crore in global box office collections, the film’s theatrical run was nothing short of phenomenal. However, its release on Netflix on November 2 marked a new chapter in its success story, introducing an ‘extended cut’ that has captivated audiences worldwide.

Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” continues to dominate the global streaming landscape, claiming a spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Films (Non-English) list for two consecutive weeks since its release on November 2. The film has amassed an impressive 3,700,000 views, translating into 10,600,000 hours of viewing time. Its enduring appeal is further cemented by the fact that it is the only Indian film to make it onto this prestigious list, outshining its sole Indian counterpart, the Tamil film “Irugapatru,” which has garnered 1,200,000 views and 3,000,000 hours watched.

Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” has asserted its dominance in India, securing three out of ten spots on the country’s Top 10 list, with its Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil versions captivating audiences across the nation. The film’s widespread appeal and diverse linguistic reach have propelled it to the top of the chart, solidifying its position as a national cinematic phenomenon.

Shah Rukh Khan beams with pride as “Jawan” emerges as the “most watched film in India” on Netflix. “I am overjoyed to announce that Jawan has captured the hearts of Indian audiences, becoming the most watched film on Netflix. Releasing the extended cut was our heartfelt token of appreciation for the unwavering love and support our fans have showered upon the film. The tremendous response we’ve witnessed from Netflix viewers serves as a powerful testament to the magic of Indian cinema. Jawan transcends the boundaries of a mere film; it embodies a symphony of storytelling, passion, and the indomitable spirit of our cinematic heritage. I am immensely proud of its remarkable success on Netflix,” he declared.
