OMG: Deepika Padukone won’t be attending Cannes Film Festival this year
As per the latest buzz in the media, the leggy lass of B Town, Deepika Padukone who was expected to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival this year clarifies that she won’t be attending the event as she is currently busy prepping up for her upcoming movie Padmavati. Deepika was speaking at a style award function held in the city yesterday. According to a leading news agency, when Deepika was asked if she is attending the festival, she said, “No. Right now all my energies are focused on Padmavati.”
 Recently, Deepika was chosen as the Indian face for one of the beauty and skin care product of an International brand. Hence, there were reports that Deepika might follow the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor who have been associated with the same brand earlier. Deepika will be seen playing the role of Rani Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next. The movie also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. The shooting of the movie has twice been stalled this year by the Karni Sena members who alleged the filmmaker of distorting facts. The crew is expected to begin shooting soon.
Apart from this, reports suggest that Deepika has also been approached for Aanand L Rai’s next in which Shah Rukh Khan will be seen essaying the role of a dwarf. The film reportedly might also see Deepika sharing screen space with Katrina Kaif. However, neither Deepika nor Katrina has confirmed the reports. Padmavati is a historic drama and is expected to release later this year.
