Fighter’s Phenomenal Day 2 Box Office: Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s Dynamic Duo Soars with a 70% Surge, Accumulating Rs 61 Crores in Two Days

Hrithik Roshan’s high-budget film “Fighter” gained momentum on its second day, following a decent but not outstanding opening day with earnings of Rs 24 crore. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, saw a surge in box office numbers on the Republic Day holiday, with an expected increase of over 70% attributed to positive feedback surrounding its aerial action sequences. This propelled the movie’s domestic two-day total to Rs 61 crore, with an anticipated opening weekend collection ranging from Rs 120 crore to Rs 150 crore within the domestic market. “Fighter” is a patriotic action film chronicling the lives of Air Force fighter pilots during a war, featuring Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor in prominent roles, with Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover in supporting roles.

According to Sacnilk, “Fighter” recorded a 41% occupancy rate for the 2D standard version and a 42% occupancy rate for the 3D version, with the majority of viewers attending evening shows. While Chennai reported over 80% capacity, Mumbai and the Delhi NCR region witnessed an occupancy rate of approximately 50%. Despite these trends, “Fighter” is not being positioned as a pan-Indian movie.

While the first-day earnings of “Fighter” did not match Hrithik’s recent high standards (his previous films with Siddharth Anand had larger debuts), they marked a comeback for the actor following the perceived underperformance of his last outing, “Vikram Vedha.” It is projected that “Fighter” will surpass the approximately Rs 80 crore domestic earnings of “Vikram Vedha” on its third day. Hrithik’s highest-grossing film remains “War,” which amassed over Rs 470 crore globally after earning Rs 53 crore in 2019. Another successful venture, “Bang Bang,” garnered over Rs 350 crore globally, with an opening of Rs 27 crore. Anil Kapoor, Deepika, and Siddharth are all coming off the back of successful films, with Anil’s recent appearance in the contentious blockbuster “Animal,” and Siddharth and Deepika collaborating on the Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Pathaan.”
