bigilAfter sharing the first super hot look poster from the film, Bigil, now the second look of the was released at midnight on the occasion of Vijay’s 45th birthday. Vijay and director Atlee’s third collaboration for a film after the huge of successful Theri and Mersal, has been titled as Bigil (which means ‘whistle’ in colloquial Tamil). Atlee released the second look poster of the film on his Twitter handle captioning it as his “birthday gift to Vijay anna.”

The film features Vijay in dual roles, which is expected to be that of a father and a son, as is evident from the first look. An older Vijay with speckles of grey in his hair reveals a pretty menacing look with an ‘aruval’ at his feet, while the youngster avatar of Vijay can be  seen tossing a Manchester United football casually right behind him.

The second look was revealed right at the stroke of midnight on Thalapathy’s birthday, revealing his name in the film – “Michael”, as seen behind his jersey. However, it is yet not officially clear if he is playing multiple roles similar to his role in Mersal, or if the poster depicts just depicts the different stages in the life of the same character.

Prior to the first-look release at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, five of the top trends in India on Twitter were about Vijay, including #HBDEminentVijay and #Thalapathy63FLDay.

The film was tentatively called ‘Thalapathy 63’ after its announcement, as Vijay’s fans keenly waited for Vijay’s birthday week (as has become the practice for all his films) to get more information on the title and its first-look.

Archana Kalpathi of AGS Cinemas had already revealed that the first-look of the film is coming on June 21, and that the second look would come out at 12 a.m. on June 22 on the occasion of Vijay’s birthday.

The film is known to be a sports drama, where Vijay plays as a football coach. The supporting cast for the film includes Nayantara, Vivek, Kathir of Pariyerum Perumal fame, Yogi Babu and Robo Shankar. AR Rahman will be composing music for the film and the cinematographer is under KG Vishnu. The film is produced by AGS Entertainment, and is set for a Diwali release.

Meanwhile, several theatres across Tamil Nadu have taken up to screening the actor’s earlier films such as Mersal, Theri, and Sarkar during his birthday week, with some shows exclusively reserved for women and children.
