After making her successful digital debut with Sacred Games, Kalki Koechlin is all set to feature in a psychological thriller web series produced by Zee5, titled Bhram. Talking about the series, Kalki mentioned that after listening to the script and plot of Bhram, she kept thinking about it for days. This ZEE5 web show will be revolving around a novelist who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and her journey of emotional rage while pursuing a story.
Kalki plays the lead role of the novelist in Bhram and will be portraying her struggle of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Making a statement about the series on a famous media platform, Kalki mentioned, “‘Bhram’ is an intriguing story and the character I essay is really complex. I heard the script and then kept thinking about it for days. It is almost frightening how the human mind works. I am looking forward to the shoot and the release on ZEE5.”
The series will be directed by Sangeeth Sivan and he seems to be all praises for Kalki.
Throwing a lil light on the script, Sivan said, “It is a tight script, beautifully nuanced and I hope we are able to translate this story on screen. Kalki is a powerful actor and it is amazing how she intently listens and pays attention to every small detail during workshop and narration sessions. The journey has started and I am excited and looking forward for audiences to catch it on ZEE5.”
On the other side, ZEE5’s Kaafir, another women-centric series, starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina in the lead has already gained a lot of appreciation from the audiences making the expectations really high from “Bhram”.
“Viewers are constantly looking for engaging stories and we have received a fantastic response for thrillers on our platform. We are further investing into this genre across languages for our audiences. ‘Bhram’ is an alluring story and the perfect binge-watching content,” said Aparna Acharekar, Programming Head, ZEE5 India.
The web series will also be starring some prime faces like Bhumika Chawla, Sanjay Suri, Eijaz Khan and Omkar Kapoor.
The first schedule of the shoot is scheduled to take place in Shimla.
