This Independence Day, we have two big banner films releasing – Mohenjo Daro and Rustom. Both the films enjoyed a decent pre-buzz release, thanks to the decent amount of promotions being carried out the makers of the duo. Now, let’s talk about the way the films have performed at the end of the day. Both the films got decent ratings by a majority of critics.
Talking about the magnum opus film of Ashutosh Gowariker – Mohenjo Daro the film started with a good occupancy report starting with 40 percent in the morning shows. It increased with the passing shows giving you the best at the end of the first day. As per reports, the first day box office collection for Mohenjo Daro tolled to around 13 crores, which is as expected by the makers and experts of the market.
Next is the film Rustom starring Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz. The film had the occupancy or around 25 to 30 percent in the morning shows, however, it increased in the afternoon and doing the same in the evening shows as well. The film show though was under the hype of Mohenjo Daro but still managed to survive on a good note.
As per reports, the first day collection of Rustom tolled to around 11 crores, which is actually a good amount of collection considering the fact that it has a rival at the opposite in the form of MD. However, since Rustom’s budget seems to be the half of the rival film Mohenjo Daro, hence it is likely to earn more profits than the other one. The experts are expecting a decent surge in the coming first weekend, which will be an extended weekend considering the Independence Day holiday.
