Amitabh Bachchan to join Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘Ghoomer’

R. Balakrishnan is best known for directing Cheeni Kum (2007), Paa (2009), and Pad Man (2018). On February 05, Abhishek Bachchan shared that he started shooting for R. Balki’s Cricket based drama Ghoomer. Taking to his Instagram handle, Jr. Bachchan posted Ghoomer’s clapboard with Lord Ganesha’s photo and captioned the post, ‘Can’t ask for a better birthday present! Birthdays are best spent, working. घूमर Now spinning!’

National Award-winning filmmaker Shivendra Singh Dungarpur has also joined the cast of this movie. In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Dungarpur had informed that they will also be filming for the movie in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune. The film also features Shabana Azmi, Saiyami Kher, and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles.

R. Balki and Amitabh Bachchan come together after 13 long years! Ghoomer also reunites Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. ‘The part is extremely important to the script but the details of it have been kept under the wraps for now’ informs a source close to the development. Big B has earlier worked in Balki’s Cheeni Kum opposite Tabbu, Paa along with Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan, and Shamitabh, also had made cameo appearances in Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor starrer Ki & Ka and Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan also has Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye, Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s Hindi adaptation of The Intern, and Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund.
