Makers of Korean drama Sweet Home, will produce back to back 2 seasons for Netflix

Sweet Home, Netflix’s hit Korean creature drama, will return for two more seasons. The popular series has been renewed for a second and third season, which will be produced this year back-to-back, according to the streamer, with Season one director Lee Eung-bok returning to the helm.

The story will move forward to its second and third seasons with an expanded storyline and cast. Song Kang and Lee Jin Wook, as well as the original cast of Lee Si Young, Go Min Si, and Park Gyu Young, will return. They will reunite with hit director Lee Eung Bok to tell the unfinished story of Green Home’s survivors. Yoo Oh Seong, Oh Jung Se, Kim Moo Yeol, and Jung Jin Young, all newly confirmed cast members, round out the ensemble in the Netflix show.

“Season 2 will include a new setting, and the technical details that we couldn’t refine in Season 1 will be further honed in Season 2,” the director was quoted as saying. He also hinted at a wider franchise universe and even more stunning visuals.

“In these new seasons, Sweet Home will take on a larger scale with an expanded storyline and cast,” the company said in a statement.

When Season 1 debuted on Netflix in 2020, its terrifying monsters and clever storytelling established a new standard in the creature feature genre, earning fans rave reviews. The series went on to receive international recognition, including the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) and the 3rd Asia Contents Awards.

Kim Carnby and Hwang Young Chan (Naver Webtoon) adapted the series, which is directed by Lee Eung Bok and produced by Studio Dragon and Studio N.
