Sarbjit Cheema is a known Punjabi singer and often called as Cheema. He belongs to a Jat family wherein he was born on 14th June 1968 in a village called Cheema Kalan, Jalandhar Punjab. He did his schooling and college from Punjab and after completing his graduation from Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandar, he headed to Canada. During his school days, he was active in sports and was a captain of his hockey team.  He even was the part of the bhangra team of the college and thus won a number of prizes at College level, University level and Punjab level. Here a singer for the club, Balraj Singh Bassi, listened to him.

His career started with singing but was recognized by his album called “Chandigarh Shaher Di Kuddi” that made him very much popular. He has made rock with Boliyan and Gidha Beats along with giving some smash hit Punjabi songs like Rangla Punjab from his album Mela Vekhdiye Mutiyare that was released in 1996. Some of his hits include Billo teri tor vekh ke, Dhol Vajda, Rang rara riri rara, Bhangra, Nacho-Nacho, Khatta Doria, Chandigarh Shehar di kudi, Boliyan. A majority of time his albums’ music was produced by musician Sukhpal Sukh and Atul Sharma and now he is working with musician Aman Hayer.

Talking about his film career, it all started with the lead role in film Pind Di Kudi in 2004, with Sheeba Bhakri and Veena Malik. He then appeared in Apni Boli Apna Des in 2009. He worked in film Punjab Bolda in 2013, starring with Anisha Pooja, Gurchet Chitrakar, B.N Sharma, Binnu Dhillon, Karamjit Anmol, Amarjit Cheema. He also worked in Punjabi film named Haani with Harbhajan Mann, which was released in 2013. He is currently making Another Film With Baljit Malwa in a film named “Disney Daaro”, releasing summer 2015.
