Liger Review : Vijay Deverakonda starrer is utterly unbearable in any language one chooses to watch!

Liger Movie Review

Liger Story:

Vijay Deverakonda, who underwent physical transformation, plays a stuttering kickboxer who relocates with his widowed mother from Telangana’s Karimnagar to the city of Mumbai in an effort to become a successful mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. His mother Balamani (Ramya Krishnan) earns a living by selling tea from a mobile kiosk so that her son Liger can follow his love.

Liger Review:

The lead actor is forced to perform in incredibly shoddy situations where the other actors must scream at the top of their lungs to cover for the monosyllables that the pugnacious hero struggles to speak. I’m curious as to what led the actor to believe that Liger was the ideal movie to start his Hindi film career with. He makes a lot of effort, but the movie is far too unsteady to take off and soar.

Liger has absolutely nothing to recommend it in terms of plot, emotional nuance, credible mixed martial arts action, or genuine high drama. It is quite filthy. The haphazard movie contains not a single moment that suggests any thought was put into it.

Liger never even comes close to breaking into a full-fledged roar due to its shoddy writing, bad acting, and awful execution. Even when it tries to snarl, all it can muster is a gloomy sigh. In the midst of a tonne of shabby action, the cinematic sensibility and storytelling dynamic on display are horribly stunted and lost.

Liger takes you off guard just as you start to believe that it has found its level and will now continue along it with some consistency. In the very following sequence, it devises ways to plunge even further into a muck of awkwardness.

The action switches to the United States at some point in the second half, where an Indian entrepreneur (Chunky Panday) adds to the movie’s already high level of ridiculousness.

As the movie is coming to a close, Tyson appears, but nothing the former heavyweight world champion does can give the film any weight. He merely lowers it to the level of his own bootlaces, if anything.

Liger Verdict:

Vijay Deverakonda’s cutting-edge physique and action prowess can’t save this major mess of a movie.
