Ali Abbas Zafar Shares Insights into His Upcoming Project with Salman Khan; States Bhai Will Have the Final Say

Ali Abbas Zafar, the acclaimed director behind major hits like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, is a coveted name in Bollywood, particularly for large-scale cinematic spectacles. Now, he is preparing for the release of his next film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring two of India’s top action stars. In the meantime, Ali revealed his intentions to collaborate once again with Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Ali Abbas Zafar shared insights on the prospect of teaming up with Salman Khan again. The director of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan indicated that Salman had shown interest in the story Ali proposed, and the final decision is now in Salman’s hands. Ali spoke warmly of the actor, stating, “As everyone knows, I love Salman Sir. He is like an elder brother to me, and I want to do a film with him, Inshallah! He is happy with the story that I take to him.”

Ali Abbas Zafar lauded Salman Khan as a ‘great’ actor, highlighting how the actor’s acting prowess often gets overshadowed by his magnetic screen presence.

“When we collaborate now, I try to write a character that can do justice to his stardom. It’s challenging to balance the stardom and persona of stars with the characters. Our past collaborations yielded memorable characters, and hopefully, our next project together will be truly special. I’m really looking forward to working with him,” Ali shared.

He further added, “I believe he is a superstar and a very, very strong actor. I always say that there is a beautiful actor in him. People don’t often see that side of him because of his overwhelming charisma. But if you’ve seen Sultan, Bharat, or Tiger, you’ll realize that he is indeed a great actor.” Zafar concluded by assuring fans that the collaboration would materialize soon, with Salman Khan deciding the timelines.

The collaboration between Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar has been incredibly successful in the past. The duo has worked together on three major hits – Sultan (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and Bharat (2019). The former two crossed the Rs. 300-crore mark, while Bharat also performed well, raking in Rs. 212 crore at the domestic box office.

Recently, showing support for Ali Abbas Zafar, Salman Khan shared the trailer of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on his Instagram handle, expressing hope that it would break the records of Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
