From Vidya Balan’s Sherni to Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka, this season grab your munchings and wait for these big releases on OTT platforms!

This season is going to be one of the entertaining seasons of the year so far. The OTT platforms are flooded with some of the most amazing content which will be coming your way. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the nation filmmakers worldwide took to the digital root to release their films. This in a way helped viewers to consume good content in the comfort and safety of their home. Well, not only films but the OTT creators are also busy making top-notch shows for the audience.

Talking about films the season will begin with Vidya Balan’s Sherni which is set release on Amazon Prime on 18 June. Directed by Amit Masur who entered into the industry with the critically acclaimed film Newton starring Rajkumar Rao, Sherni is a story of a female bureaucrat. Playing the titular role Vidya is seen facing masculine apathy and cynicism in the film. The film also stars Mohit Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Brajendra Kala, Sharat Saxena. The film is set in the forests of Madhya Pardesh forests.

After Sherni the film which is making noise is Taapsee Pannu’s Haseen Dillruba. Another female-centric film that promised to give the edge of the set thriller. Also starring Harshvardhan Rane, Vikrant Massey, Hansika Motwani the film is written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Vinil Matthews. The film is set to prime on Netflix from 2 July.

After two high-energy female-centric films Amazon Prime will again release a sports dram starring Farhan Akhtar. Directed by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra Toofan will stream from 16 July. Previously Prakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar have come together for a blockbuster film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, hence the expectation from this one is especially high.

Moving again to Netflix, the streaming platform will have Kartik Aaryan’s much-talked-about film Dhamaka. The film is about a television journalist Arjun Pathak is trapped in a situation where he had to negotiate with a terrorist. What happens next will be interesting to see. Dhamaka will probably stream on Netflix in July-August the official announcement is yet awaited.
