Merry Christmas Box Office: Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi Starrer Rakes in ₹1 Cr on Day 6, Total Collection Reaches ₹13.8 Cr

Merry Christmas, the suspense thriller starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif, continues to make waves at the box office. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, has garnered praise for its performances and gripping storyline. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, Merry Christmas earned approximately ₹1.1 crore nett in India on its sixth day of release. Since its release on January 12, the Tamil-Hindi bilingual has amassed an estimated ₹13.83 crore nett in all languages at the domestic box office. It is currently being screened in theaters in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

On its opening day, Merry Christmas collected ₹2.45 crore nett in all languages in India. The film witnessed a growth in earnings over the weekend, with ₹3.45 crore nett on Saturday and its highest day-wise figure of ₹3.83 crore nett on Sunday. The momentum continued on Monday with a business of ₹1.65 crore nett, and the film remained steady on Tuesday, adding another ₹1.3 crore nett to its domestic box office collection.

The film revolves around the events of an uneventful Christmas Eve that turns the lives of two strangers upside down. Merry Christmas has been shot in two languages, Hindi and Tamil, with different supporting casts. The Hindi version features Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand alongside Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The Tamil version stars Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in the same roles.

As the film continues to captivate audiences, fans may wonder if a sequel is on the horizon. In a recent interview with India Today, director Sriram Raghavan revealed that he had no plans for a sequel to Merry Christmas. He explained that he had envisioned the film as a small, standalone project, and felt that leaving it as a Christmas special would be more impactful. Raghavan emphasized that the feeling the film evokes is what should stay with the audience, rather than attempting to extend the story unnecessarily.
