Akshay Kumar to be a sanitary napkin maker in R Balki’s Pad Man

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar seems to be having a really great time with his cool career. A majority of films are doing well at the box office with his previous three films 2016 – Airlift, Rustom and Housefull 3 and these have all done a decent business with scoring 100 crore plus at the box office. Interestingly all of these films belonged to different genres. Now, Akki simply looks to continue the very same trend in the year 2017, as he has not one but four releases this year, and each of these appears so different from the other.

Akki is also getting to work with a number of directors with whom he has not worked before unlike Subhash Kapoor seen in Jolly LLB 2, Shree Narayan Singh in Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, Shankar (the bilingual 2.0) and now doing a movie called R Balki. Now the filmmaker (R Balki) and his blend is really very interesting and exciting one since R Balki is known to make slice of life kind of films, which are simply unique and known to have some quirky titles like Cheeni Kum, Ki & Ka and Paa.

So his next venture with Akshay Kumar is seen following the very same trend in having a very diverse title in Pad Man. No, it’s not the superhero spoof film like but is actually the one that is based on a true incident that is going by the poster. As per reports, it is said to be biopic which is based on as the India’s ‘Menstruation Man’, an epithet given to Arunachalam Muruganantham. This man called Arunachalam was born in Tamil Nadu, and happens to be a social worker who found an innovative way to make cheap and affordable sanitary napkins for the women in his village, thus earning that nickname. This simply has earned him a spot among the 100 Most Influential People in the World and he was awarded Padma Shri in 2016.
