10 Bollywood protagonists we wish our boyfriends were like

Bollywood has always influenced our lives to a great extent. Everything we do is inspired by Bollywood, somehow or the other. Bollywood has never ceased to mess with our minds, especially when it comes to romance. The unrealistic expectations that Bollywood has set up has a lot to do with our idea of love. We know the stark difference between real life and reel life yet every time we watch these love stories, we cannot help but wonder how utopian the concept is and end up wishing our boyfriends were like those characters in real life. Here are 10 such characters we wish our boyfriends were like.

  • Aditya Kashyap- Jab We Met

Aditya Kashyap- Jab We Met

This man and his unparalleled love for Geet gave us new goals when it came to falling in love. The calm, reserved and deeply intense Aditya Kashyap was the man we all wanted to date. Tumse Hi showed us how unconditionally he was in love with Geet and never came in the way of her happiness.

  • Abhay Gulati- Break Ke Baad

Abhay Gulati- Break Ke Baad

Though the film didn’t do well, we all fell in love with how Abhay Gulati fought for and stood up for his love. He actually traveled through countries and crossed oceans to make his relationship work out. Seriously, who does that today?

  • Imran Qureshi- ZNMD

Though Hrithik was the hot guy and Abhay was the perfect fiancé guy, I always felt Farhan Akhtar was the guy every girl wanted her boyfriend to be like. Who wouldn’t want to date someone with that amazing sense of humour and even more amazing poetries? Imagine whenever you are angry or sad or depressed, your guy would recite a poetry, because no girl deserves less!

  • Akshay- Tum Mile

Akshay- Tum Mile

This film is pretty much forgettable I would say. Yet what makes this worth remembering is Emraan’s character and how hopelessly he was in love with Soha. Even five years after break up when they meet on a flight, this guy still remembers that his once upon a time girl is afraid of flight take offs. Adorable!

  • Rahul Kapoor- Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu
Rahul Kapoor- Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu
Rahul Kapoor- Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

This film was so fresh and I loved the way it ended. What I loved more was Rahul Kapoor, a guy we would tag as ‘boring’ in the beginning. But in today’s world where technology has taken over, what’s better than someone whom we can actually have a conversation with? They were friends and Rahul was in love, but he never forced his feelings on her. That’s what I love about him!

  • Flight Lt. Ajay Rathod- Rang de Basanti

Flight Lt. Ajay Rathod- Rang de Basanti

A perfect man, we all would say. Not only because he was super successful as a pilot, but because how down to earth he was. The proposal scene is a personal favourite. Girls, where we would we get a guy who makes us so happy that we would actually have tears in our eyes?

  • Rohit- Kal Ho Naa Ho

“Maturity is when as a kid you fall for Aman who sacrificed his love but growing up you realise that Rohit is the kind of guy we all need in our lives”, this was a status I had posted on Facebook few months back. It was when I fell in love with my best friend that I realised how much we all need to find our Rohits and spend the lifetime with them.

  • Akash Malhotra- Dil Chahta Hai

Akash Malhotra- Dil Chahta Hai

We wouldn’t fall in love at first with Aamir’s character, would we? But how he spends time with Preity and in the end, how he fights for his lady love. Obviously none of us want a guy who would be ready to pick up fights, but then don’t we love the guy who takes a stand for us?

  • Krish Malhotra- 2 States

Krish Malhotra- 2 States

This guy deserves respect. Not only did he successfully come out of the friendzone, but he stood by his girl at every point in their not so easy relationship. From convincing his girl’s parents to his own and then waiting for the girl herself, he did it all! If only our boyfriends like that.

  • Aadi- Saathiya

How we loved this simple love story! But what we girls loved more about the film was Vivek Oberoi. I agree he was not a very perfect husband material with that infamous temper, but the way he lost it all when he couldn’t find his wife, it made up for all his bad temper.
