Goodbye, Vikram Vedha, PS-1 (Hindi) box office collection: All new releases failed to get good numbers
Both Goodbye and Vikram Vedha have been box office flops in recent weeks. It was expected that Vikram Vedha would do well because the original was a success and the remake was very faithful to it, but that was not the case. Goodbye, on the other hand, could have been a coverage event with some respectable numbers, but that also did not happen. As a result, despite Brahmastra’s efforts, footfalls have been low for the past ten days.
Goodbye may have grown over the weekend and now has a total of Rs. 4 crores*. This is extremely low, and it is less than the first-day revenue of Piku, which had a similar setup and earned Rs. 5.58 crores on its first day. A weekend of Rs. 10 crores was expected at the very least for this Vikas Behl-directed film, but the numbers that have come in are less than half of that, which is quite disappointing.
On the other hand, Vikram Vedha, a holdover release, has remained low as well, with only Rs. 5 crores* collected on Sunday. The trend between Friday and Saturday was positive, and Sunday was even better. One can only wait to see if the film remains stable during the week or if it drops when compared to Friday. Still, at least Rs. 6 crores more would now come in until Thursday, helping to push its total past the Rs. 75 crores mark. So far, the film has earned Rs. 70 crores*.
Ponniyin Selvan: I Box office collections
PS-1 (Hindi) is currently playing in a limited number of theatres. The film has now grossed Rs. 18.65 crores* and will eventually gross more than Rs. 25 crores. That would allow it to eventually be an average affair, which is not bad at all, especially in these times.
