NCDRC Asks Makers of SRK film Fan to pay 10k to a teacher in Aurangabad for excluding the Jabra Fan song

jabra fan

Many were disappointed to see the film Fan without the song Jabra Fan like Afreen Fatima Zaidi a school teacher based in Aurangabad in Maharashtra. This made her feel deceived and disappointed thus allowing her to knock the doors of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). The film released four years before now has got the decision on this when the body has asked the makers – Yash Raj Films to pay 10k INR as a compensation to the said teacher for deceiving her.

Yes, you heard it right, the fine will be given to the lady by the makers as directed by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission calling it to be an unfair trade practice who decided to watch the film after seeing this song. The hearing was made in the presence of the court with VK Jain as the presiding member. After hearing both the parties, the body rejected the explanation of the makers that it was made clear in an interview of the makers that the song would not be the part of the film.

However, NCDRC rejected the argument saying that the publicly declared song should have been the part of the film and that the petitioner asking for it has the right to demand it to the part of the movie. Zaidi has tried to file the issue at the court but her petition was rejected. She then appealed to Maharashtra State Consumer Commission, which then announced the judgment of paying the lady to compensate with the said amount along with giving her the litigation cost of Rs 5,000 as well.
