One of the most controversial shows on small screens, where you watch everything from budding relationships to nasty fights The very first season was hosted by Arshad Warsi, and then it went to Shilpa Shetty for the second season and Amitabh Bachchan for the third.

However, the star who brought immense popularity to this show is nobody else but superstar Salman Khan. After bringing Salman on board in Season 4, the show received amazing feedback, and its fanbase kept growing. Therefore, the makers decided to retain him as host for every season after that.

Seasons 4, 5, and 6

In Season 4, Salman made his debut as host of this game show in which celebrities are locked inside a house. As per reports from the Hindustan Times, he received Rs. 2.5 crore per episode for each season. Shweta Tiwari was the winner of Season 4, followed by Juhi Parmar and Urvashi Dholakia in Seasons 5 and 6.

Season 7

The next season was promoted as “Heaven and Hell” and had a theme where contestants were divided into two groups like neighbours. They were asked to keep an eye on each other to make the game interesting. According to HT, Salman increased his fees from 2.5 crores to 5 crores per episode. The show went on for 15 weeks, and Gauhar Khan was declared the winner at the end.

Season 8

Bigg Boss Season 8 came with a tagline: “Bigg Boss Aath, Sabki Lagegi Waat.” The season gained so much attention during its telecast. Gautam Gulati emerged as the winner this season. This time, Salman Khan increased his fee by 50 lakhs, earning 5.5 crores.

Seasons 9 and 10

Season 9 introduced “double trouble,” where contestants entered the house as a pair instead of individual players. In the tenth season, however, producers mixed commoners with celebrities. Salman Khan was paid around 7-8 crores for the ninth season and 8 crores for the tenth season, according to HT Reports.

Seasons 11 and 12

We found different reports about Salman’s payout during these seasons. When his salary for season 11 was discussed, the actor joked in front of the media, saying, “Please make Raj (Nayak, Endemol Shine India COO) pay me that amount.” According to the most reliable sources, the actor charged Rs. 11 crores for Shilpa Shinde’s season win.

Season 12, which debuted in 2018 and saw Dipika Kakkar win the trophy, saw another increase in his fee, as is customary. According to News 18, the makers paid him around Rs. 12–14 crore for season 12, which lasted for 106 days.

Season 13

This was one of the most entertaining seasons, and Lt. Siddharth Shukla won the game. According to Midday, Salman Khan charged Rs 15.50 crore per episode for the thirteenth instalment.

Season 14

The promotion tagline this time was “Bigg Boss 14: Hoga Rocking,” with a “futuristic” theme. One section was called BB Spa, and another BB Mall. According to new reports from Midday, India Times, and News 18, the actor was paid around 20 crores this time.Pahadi girl Rubina Dilaik won this season.

Season 15

The Times of India has revealed that Salman Khan asked for 15 crores per episode in the 15th season and 350 crores in total. Naagin Tejasswi Prakash of TV fame was crowned the winner, with Pratik Sehajpal and Karan Kundrra finishing second and third, respectively.

Season 16

Bigg Boss Season 16 is currently running, and contestants are locked inside the house with some high-voltage drama going on. Before the season premiere, rumours circulated that Salman Khan would charge Rs. 1000 crore for the new season.

However, during the premiere event, the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actor denied all of the rumours. He said, “If they ever pay me this much, I won’t work for the rest of my life. Otherwise, I have so many expenses, like lawyers and all. However, people’s income tax notices may come to me as a result of these rumours.”
