The film is based on a Hollywood movie The Fault in Our Stars by Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. The story is all about a young cancer patient who meets a lively boy called Manny played by Sushant. Initially, the lady Kizie does not like Manny, however, she is moved by his cuteness. Amidst their love story, the lady’s ailment comes in the picture as she is suffering from cancer. This is where the story makes you emotional and soon the girl ignores the boy when deteriorating health. So, what happens at the end is interesting to explore.

Review

The film is the last film of Sushant, but not the best as after watching it you would feel that the best is yet to come. The Indian filmmakers often take resort in remake business and looking at this film one may find too many similarities to the original. Many of the sequences are the same frame by frame. Looking at the love story, you get a feeling that you have watched such films in B Town. Thus it is nothing new to offer. And comparing it with the orignal, it seems lagging behind the same in a big way.

Talking about the performances, Sushant Singh Rajput was seen adding the flavour to the role of Manny gradually and slowly. His character is straight but the late actor took all his time to get over it. Perhaps it might be due to the character he has played in the film that made him tread that way, otherwise he was a good actor. Talking about Sanjana Sanghi, she seems to be a revelation in her leading role. She managed to emote perfectly with single frame by frame. On the other side, Saswata Chatterjee played much better than the original. The others like Swastika Mukherjee also did a decent job.

Now, talking about the other elements like music, and other elements, music seemed okay, yet was not par when we think of A R Rahman doing the show. In a sense giving the idea of having a mediocre music album. The screenplay also seemed half baked, while similar was the story of execution when we talk about the direction. It failed to go smooth without giving the right blend  of efforts as required to make the film a better watch.

The Last Word

With all said and done, the film failed to remain on par with the orignal. If you have not watched the original then better do not watch it or else you end up ruining the taste of catching Dil Bechara.
