Popular television actor Nitesh Pandey passes away at 51

The Hindi television industry appears to be in a slump right now, as it has lost three popular faces in the last two days. Following the death of Aditya Singh Rajput and Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, another popular television actor Nitesh Pandey, well known for his role in currently running daily soap Anupamaa, died today at 2 a.m. due to heart attack. He was 51 years old at the time.

According to recent media reports, Nitesh Pandey suffered a major heart arrest late Tuesday night while he was in Igatpuri, near Nashik for the shoot. A police team is on the scene at the hotel where he stayed, and a postmortem report is still pending.

As per a report in Etimes, the actor’s brother-in-law said, “Yes you have heard it right. My brother-in-law is no more, my sister Arpita Pandey is in a state of shock. Nitesh’s father has left for Igatpuri to get his mortal remains. They should be here by the afternoon. We have gone absolutely numb, I have not been able to even talk to Arpita after the tragedy.”

Nitesh began his theatrical career in 1990. He landed the part of a detective in the television serial ‘Tejas’ in 1995. He went on to become a well-known face in Indian television for the last two decades after appearing in serials such as ‘Manzilein Apani Apani,’ ‘Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani,’ ‘Saaya,’ ‘Justajoo,’ Durgesh Nandini, and Anupama, as well as more current shows such as ‘Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara,’ and Anupama. In addition to television, he has appeared in films such as Om Shanti Om, Khosla Ka Ghosla, and ‘Badhaai Do’.

Nitesh is survived by his wife, Aprita Pandey, whom he met on the TV show Justajoo and married in 2003.
