It has been nine months that the popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum has gone off air and the viewers are eager to know whether the sequel to the show is in the making. Good news to the fans! Diya Aur Baati is indeed having a sequel which will soon be launched on Star Plus. The posters are already out.
The sequel to Diya Aur Baati is titled Tu Suraj Main Saanjh Piya ji. This will be a continuation of the story of the prequel from where it stopped. The story will take a leap of 20 years and will be depicting the story of the two children Ved and Kanak. The show was highly popular for it’s theme of women empowerment. Sandhya Raathi was the leading character who aspired to become an IPS officer but struggled with stereotypes in her conservative society. The show had high TRPs since it’s beginning in the year 2011 to 2016.
Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid played the lead in the show and Neelu Vaghela played the role of the mother in law. In the sequel Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piya ji , the lead characters will be Ved and Kanak and Deepika and Anas will have no physical presence in the show. Whereas Neelu Vaghela lovingly called as Bhabo in the story will be present in the same role but with a change. The actress is currently shooting and episode in Kerala and was snapped in a houseboat wearing saree and specs for the shoot.
