Assam Government announced  to hosts the biggest river festival ‘Namami Brahmaputra’ five-day festival to be held from March 31 to April 4where the Assam Government led by its Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his team has planned out a host of activities to showcase the region’s art, heritage and culture. Here are our telly stars who comes up from assam are happy about the festival and want to attend it but with work commitment they will be missing it. Here they talk about the festival.

DEVOLEENA BHATTACHARJEE: I am really going to miss the festival as I’m shooting in bombay. I tried my best to visit the festival with my friends here. Thought of introducing them to Assam. The fest was the best option as there will be traditional Assamese sports on display, music and dance forms. Also Assam Tea festival, local cuisine spread and film festival screening the best of Assamese films along with river cruises, rafting, visits to the sprawling tea gardens and their English bungalows with abutting golf courses will enchant tourists. But still my family at assam will visit the fest and also share the records with me. I am happy about my Assam getting developed.

SHAMIN MANAN: I am really excited about the festival, Namami Brahmaputra. All my friends and family at assam will be attending it but because of some work commitment here in Mumbai I’m missing it. But Ill keep myself updated about the same with pictures and videos. I have loved the song sung by Papon and other stars and I listen to it feels so addicted.

MAHIKA SHARMA: The five day programme of Namami Brahmaputra will have host of activities to showcase Assam’s art, heritage and culture. Already the theme song of the programme is released and I am loving it. I am trying my best to visit the festival have got invitation too for that. But also have some work commitment. I’m shooting at Himachal for now.

PARINEETA BORTHAKUR: I would have loved to attend it, but I am shooting in Mumbai with Zubeen for our upcoming Assamese movie, so I won’t be able to make it. Zubeen is also performing their, but I have some scenes after he leaves for Assam, so I’ll miss the festival.
