Neeyat Trailer Out: Vidya Balan Unravels a Gripping Murder Mystery

Here comes the most awaited trailer for the new murder mystery film Neeyat. The film has an interesting star cast with  Vidya Balan in the lead, while others in the supporting and main roles include Ram Kapoor. The film is  directed by the talented filmmaker Anu Menon. It can last late evening making a good buzz around the film ready to steam on the Amazon Prime Movie on 7th July.  The film follows CBI officer Mira Rao (Vidya Balan) as she investigates the death of an exiled billionaire at a luxurious villa on the coast of Scotland.

The billionaire, AK (Ram Kapoor), throws a lavish party for his friends and family members on his birthday. However, on the fateful and stormy night, he is seen jumping off a cliff and dying. The IO – Mira arrives at the villa and declares that AK did not die by suicide, but was murdered. She corrals the 10 suspects, all of whom appear dubious and grasping, and many of whom have a probable motive to kill AK.

As Mira investigates, fissures of jealousy, secrecy, heartbreak, and animosity erupted in the group, revealing their true nature. The suspect list is long and these are played by Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Niki Walia, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli, and Danesh Razvi. The premise of the film seems interesting as it bears comparison to Rian Johnson’s 2019 murder mystery, Knives Out.

The film Neeyat is directed by Anu Menon. The film is written by Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Advaita Kala, and Girvani Dhyani, with dialogues by Kausar Munir. It is produced by Abundantia Entertainment and co-produced by Prime Video. Balan and Menon had previously collaborated on the biopic Shakuntala Devi (2019).
