The Conjuring Saga: From A Strange Woman Kissing On The Forehead To Spirits In The Farmhouse – Some Unmissable Facts!

Conjuring is known to be one of the popular scariest horror movie franchises ever. Apart from its own sequels, the franchise has also birthed spinoffs such as The Nun and Annabelle movies.

The Conjuring is said to be based on true stories, which is a fact more horrifying than the movie itself.

The film stars Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, and Ron Livingston in pivotal roles. It focuses on the Perrons family from 1971, who move into a haunted farmhouse in Harrisville, RI.

Paranormal investigators and married couple Ed & Lorraine Warren (Wilson & Farmiga) are appointed to examine the house of its demonic presence. The spirit turns out to be Bathsheba, an imputed witch who sacrificed her child to the devil and cursed future residents of her home before committing suicide. Bathsheba controls a doll named Annabelle, and Ed performs an exorcism to rid Bathsheba of the house.

Although in an interview with USA Today, Andrea Perron (Shanley Caswell in the movie), the oldest of the five children, revealed that while it was terrifying at times, they didn’t flee right away. In fact, for a few years, even before Warrens arrived to investigate, The Perrons kept the house until 1980.

Things even Conjuring fans must be reading for the first time:

Death of Ed & Lorraine:
Ed Warren died in 2006, while Lorraine passed away in 2019. Lorraine even served as a consultant on The Conjuring films before her demise. “The things that went on there were just so incredibly frightening. It affects me to talk about it today,” Lorraine had told USA Today.

Spirits in the farmhouse:
The Perron family were living in a fourteen-room house known as the Old Arnold Estate. One of the daughters out of the five of the Perron family revealed that many spirits resided in the farmhouse, along with Bathsheba.

Keep the lights on (even at night!):
According to History Collection, the neighbours of Perrons advised them to keep their lights on at night. The family said that the ghosts were kind in the beginning. Cynthea, one of the five daughters, said, “When we first moved into the house, for the first two months, there was a woman that came and kissed me every night on the forehead that I thought was my mother.”

The Conjuring 2 from the same franchise was released in 2016. The franchise is set to release the third sequel, which got delayed due to the pandemic. ‘The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It’ will now release on HBO and the cinema halls on June 4, 2021.
