The release date for Sivakarthikeyan’s long-awaited film “Maaveeran” has been announced. The action drama will hit theatres on August 11, 2023. The filmmakers announced the release date by releasing a behind-the-scenes video of the film’s production.
The one-minute, 40-second BTS footage shows the crew working hard to construct a massive set. We also saw some shooting in real-life settings, such as railway lines. The BTS video also shows the shooting of some action set pieces.

The video then shows a first look of every actor who is playing pivotal roles in the film, including female lead Aditi Shankar, Yogi Babu, Pushpa star Sunil, senior actress Saritha, and Mysskin. The making-of video then shows Sivakarthikeyan in the midst of a crowd and another shot of him in a swimming pool getting ready with underwater gear. There are also brief flashes of action and dance movements. The video concludes with the announcement that Maaveeran will be launched on 11 August.
The film is directed by National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin, who received the national award for Best Debut Film’ for his first directorial attempt Mandela, which starred Yogi Babu.

Maaveeran is produced by Arun Viswa under the banner of Shanthi Talkies. The film will also be released in Telugu as ‘Mahaveerudu’.
Apart from Maaveeran, Sivakarthikeyan will next be seen in Rajkumar Periyasamy’s untitled directorial endeavour. According to media sources, the film will be an action drama in which the actor will play an upright army officer. Sai Pallavi has been cast as the female lead, and the film will begin production in July.
