One of the two movies releasing this Friday is Roy. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez, the movie is directed by a debutant director. After getting a mixed review, the film is not able to create the kind of buzz, which was expected on its release. However, the other movie MSG – The Messenger had a great surge in comparison to the other film. Thanks to the controversy the movie was able to garner benefiting the most and hampering the other. The movie was able to draw the crowd only in the urban and elite areas as the audience liked the music and not to forget the interesting star cast of the movie.
As per reports, Roy’s 1st day box office collection tolled to around 10.40 crores, which is a decent amount despite getting the mixed reviews by the critics. The interesting cast and good music has helped the people to come closer to the film, which in turn bring in good collections. As far as MSG is concerned the buzz would remain only in its first weekend, which can hamper the collection of Roy, however, the later would pick up and soon and would go for a long way.
