When SRK Complained about Kajol “Can’t She Be Quite For Some Time?”

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are two of the biggest names in Indian cinema, and their on-screen chemistry is legendary. They first appeared together in the 1993 film Baazigar, and their pairing became an instant hit with audiences. However, what many people don’t know is that when Shah Rukh met Kajol for the first time, he had a ‘Rahul-Anjali’ moment.

The ‘Rahul-Anjali’ moment refers to a scene in the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where Shah Rukh’s character Rahul complains to Kajol’s character Anjali, “Can’t you be quiet for some time?” In the film, the scene is played for laughs, but in real life, Shah Rukh was actually annoyed with Kajol’s constant chatter.

The incident took place during the shooting of their first meeting in a New year party. Kajol was new to the film industry and was nervous about working with Shah Rukh, who was already a big star at the time. To break the ice, Kajol started talking non-stop, trying to make conversation with Shah Rukh. However, her constant chatter started to irritate him, and he couldn’t take it anymore.

Shah Rukh finally snapped and complained to the director, “Can’t she be quiet for some time?” Kajol was taken aback by his comment and was hurt that she had annoyed him. However, the incident didn’t affect their on-screen chemistry, and they went on to deliver some of the most iconic romantic scenes in Indian cinema.

Over the years, Shah Rukh and Kajol have become close friends and have worked together in several films, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and My Name Is Khan. They are considered one of the most iconic on-screen pairs in Indian cinema and have a massive fan following. While it may have been a bit awkward at the time, it didn’t affect their on-screen chemistry, and they went on to become one of the most beloved on-screen pairs in Indian cinema.
