Actor Sai Pallavi has been sued for comments she made on the Kashmiri Pandit exodus

Sai Pallavi has gotten herself into controversy after making a recent statement about the alleged cow smuggler’s lynching. Her remarks have undoubtedly sparked a firestorm on social media. Bajrang Dal was enraged enough by Sai’s statement that they filed a police case against her in Hyderabad.

On Twitter, the Bajrang Dal Bhagyanagar posted a copy of their complaint letter, claiming that a case has been filed against the Virata Parvam actor at the Sultanbazar police station. The group also wants Sai to apologize to the entire country, particularly the Kashmiri Pandits, for her “venomous” remarks. They reportedly stated that “the situation will deteriorate further” if Sai did not meet the demands.

It all started when Sai broke her silence on the Kashmiri Pandit Exodus in the early 1990s, as depicted in the film The Kashmir Files, to the lynching of suspected cow smugglers, during a YouTube interview for her upcoming film Virata Parvam alongside Rana Duggabati.

Sai had a neutral opinion about the same and said, “The film The Kashmir Files depicts the assassination of Kashmiri Pandits. A man was recently slain for carrying a cow because he was suspected of being a Muslim. The perpetrators shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ after killing the victim. Where is the line drawn between what occurred in Kashmir and what occurred recently?”

Meanwhile, some of Sai Pallavi’s fans have defended her social media opinions, while others have raised their reservations.

In Virata Parvam, Sai plays Rana Daggubati’s love interest. Sai’s character falls in love with a Naxalite in the film, which is based on true events.
