“When I joined the film industry, I made some friends who are now family,” Khan said, addressing the cheering crowd. “Mr. Yash Chopra, Mr. Yash Johar, Karan’s late dad, he was my friend actually more than Karan. He was my friend and my friend’s son is Karan who was 24 years old when he made Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

King Khan’s words were a touching tribute to the man who gave him his big break in Bollywood. Johar, who was also present at the screening, was visibly moved by Khan’s words. 25 years after its release, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remains a popular and influential film.
