The renowned Drishyam franchise is poised to make a global impact following its immense success in the Indian and Chinese markets. Producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak unveiled the Korean remake of the thrilling franchise at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, and now they have announced a significant new milestone for the franchise. Panorama Studios has partnered with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to create the first Hollywood adaptation of Drishyam, marking a groundbreaking achievement for an Indian film!

Gulfstream Pictures, co-founded by Mike Karz and Bill Bindley, has produced notable films such as the romantic comedy Blended, featuring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and the workplace comedy Upgraded, starring Camila Mendes, Marisa Tomei, and Lena Olin. Additionally, JOAT Films, founded by Jack Nguyen, specializes in cross-territorial local language remakes, with a focus on the Asia region’s production business, particularly market entries into China, Japan, India, and Korea.

Panorama Studios has secured the international remake rights to Drishyam 1 & 2 from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas. The development of Drishyam is currently underway in the US and Korea, with a pending development deal for a Spanish-language version. Furthermore, plans are in motion to explore adaptation opportunities in other countries.

Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman and Managing Director of Panorama Studios, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Drishyam’s clever narrative has a universal appeal, and we are eager to share this story with audiences worldwide. We are delighted to collaborate with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to bring this story to life in English for Hollywood. Following Korea and Hollywood, our goal is to produce Drishyam in 10 countries within the next three to five years.”

Producer Abhishek Pathak, who also directed Drishyam 2, emphasized the franchise’s global aspirations, remarking, “The Drishyam franchise has received overwhelming love from Indian audiences, leading to its massive success. The strength of Drishyam lies in its compelling story, and we are committed to sharing it with global audiences. We are thrilled to partner with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to expand this franchise in English for the US and other international Hollywood markets.”
