Akshay Kumar has addressed the controversy surrounding his new pan masala advertisement with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. The video went viral on October 8, and fans expressed their anger at Akshay for breaking his promise to stop endorsing the brand. Akshay Kumar clarified in a tweet that the ad was shot on October 13, 2021, before he disassociated from the brand. He said that he has not had anything to do with the brand since then, and that the company can legally run the already-shot ads until the end of next month.

Akshay Kumar endorsed Vimal Pan Masala in 2021, but apologized and said he would no longer endorse tobacco products after facing backlash from fans. He also donated his entire endorsement fee to a worthy cause. The brand may continue airing the ads for the legally binding duration of the contract, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return, I will always ask for your love and support.
