Mission Raniganj Box Office Collection on Day 6: Akshay Kumar’s Film Sees a Minor Decline, Rakes in ₹1.3 Crore in India

Mission Raniganj stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles. It is a biographical drama based on the true life event of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, a mining engineer who led India’s first successful coal mine rescue mission in November 1989. Gill was tasked with rescuing 65 miners who had been trapped underground for over 60 hours after a coal mine collapse. He and his team worked tirelessly for days, overcoming numerous challenges to eventually rescue all of the trapped miners.

Now, talking about the box office collection, the Tinu Suresh Desai film saw a drop in its earnings on its sixth day in India, grossing a total of nearly ₹17 crore so far. Mission Raniganj earned an estimated ₹1.3 crore net in India on its sixth day, bringing its total domestic gross to ₹16.90 crore. The film had an overall 9.68% Hindi occupancy on Wednesday.

Akshay Kumar recently talked about Mission Raniganj, saying that it is the best film of his career, even though it may not be a commercial success. “I have done so many films, but I can easily tell you that this film is the best film of my career,” Kumar told ANI. “It may not be a commercial success, but what matters to me is that I have made an honest film.”

Akshay Kumar’s comments are a refreshing change from the usual Bollywood rhetoric, where commercial success is often seen as the only measure of a film’s worth. Mission Raniganj is a biographical drama based on the true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, a mining engineer who led India’s first successful coal mine rescue mission in November 1989.

Akki’s passion for the project is evident in his comments, and it will be interesting to see how the film is received by audiences. Even if it is not a commercial success, Mission Raniganj is sure to be a memorable and inspiring film.
