Panchayat has emerged as one of the standout shows on Amazon Prime Video in India, captivating audiences with its simplicity, humor, and stellar performances. The first and second seasons, released in 2020 and 2022 respectively, garnered a massive following and received immense praise. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the highly anticipated third season, which is set to stream soon.
At a recent grand event hosted by Amazon Prime Video, attendees were treated to a sneak peek of the teaser for Panchayat Season 3. The teaser revealed an intriguing plot point that adds to the anticipation surrounding the show.
In Season 3, it is revealed that the character Ganesh, portrayed by Aasif Khan, makes a comeback. Ganesh had made an interesting cameo appearance in Season 1 as a disgruntled groom who engages in a fight with Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, the series’ lead and secretary of Phulera Gram Panchayat. Ganesh’s character has become an icon in the world of memes, thanks to the popular dialogue, “Gazab beizzati hai,” associated with him.
The teaser for Panchayat Season 3 showcases Abhishek being transferred to a different village, while Ganesh takes his place as the secretary at Phulera Gram Panchayat. Despite being married to Raveena, the daughter of Phulera resident Parmeshwar, Ganesh had a less-than-ideal experience in the village on the day of his marriage. The teaser hints at how this aspect might impact Ganesh’s relationship with the residents of Phulera, including the sarpanch Manju Devi, played by Neena Gupta, her husband Brij Bhushan Dubey portrayed by Raghubir Yadav, and the characters Prahlad and Vikas, portrayed by Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy respectively.
The second season of Panchayat concluded on a somber note with the loss of Prahlad’s son, Rahul, who sacrificed his life. Local MLA Chandra Kishore, played by Pankaj Jha, displeased with Abhishek, orchestrates his transfer to another village. The show also features Sanvikaa as Rinki, the daughter of Manju Devi and Brij Bhushan, who harbors feelings for Abhishek.
