The Friday belonged to low budget films free from the starry affair. This includes the one called Aisa Yeh Jahaan, which has Dr. Palash Sen and Ira Dubey in the lead roles. The movie revolves around a upper middle class family from Mumbai who lives under the hefty aspirations. It also addresses of the pertinent issues, which include the racism the people from North East in the rest of the states along with getting certain important lessons for environment. The film simply had no buzz in the media, so it was expected to witness lower occupancy and so the collection.
As per reports, the first weekend box office collection for Aisa Yeh Jahaan tolled to around one crore. In fact, the film failed to cross the figure of one crore. The other film Masaan releasing the same day had a decent collection. Thanks to the buzz it has created in the media due to the awards it has received at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Also, let’s not forget Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which seems to be doing a better business over the box office and thus has badly cornered the two mid budget film releasing this past weekend. The coming week has no expectation from this movie.
