Here is why Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan loose blue tick on their Twitter handles!

Fans of several actors and sports people were astonished today when they saw that their favourite superstars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Virat Kohli, and many others, have lost their blue tick from their Twitter handle.

And it’s not because of a technical fault. Individual Twitter users who have verified blue tick marks appear to be the only ones paying for Twitter Blue, which costs USD 8/month (Rs. 657.47) via the web and USD 11/month ((Rs. 904.02)) via in-app purchase on Android and IOS.

Following the implementation of these revisions, various actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Rajinikanth, lost their blue ticks.

Many of these superstars had millions of Twitter followers, and these blue tick marks would be quite useful in distinguishing between their genuine accounts and their counterfeit ones.

Amitabh Bachchan in his funny tweet also complaint about giving back ‘Blue Tick’ to his twitter account.

Many of these celebs have fan accounts with their names on Twitter. And we’ve seen many of these fans participate in Twitter wars. Even now, on the first day of Salman’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ release, there is a Twitter fight between Salman and SRK’s fans comparing the first day response to SRK’s ‘Pathaan’ and Salman’s latest release.

Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan are quite active on Twitter, with each having over 40 million followers. Recently we even saw Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan doing ‘Ask Me Anything’ or AMA sessions on Twitter with their fans.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced after purchasing Twitter for $44 billion that the microblogging site will remove the verified check-mark status of accounts that fail to sign up for Twitter Blue.

Earlier in March, Twitter posted, “On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified check marks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue.”
