Legendary singer Bappi Lahiri’s last rites begin

Indian Cinema’s legendary musician Bappi Lahiri passed away on 15th February. The singer was admitted to Criticare Hospital in Mumbai’s Juhu area, where he breathed his last at 11:45 pm.

Yesterday, we had informed you’ll that the singer’s cremation will take place once his son Bappa Lahiri is back from LA and today on 17th February the last rites of the singer has started from the Lahiri House and will soon reach Pawan Hans crematorium. Updating on the same, ANI tweeted, “Mortal remains of veteran singer #BappiLahiri being carried to Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai.”

The Director of the hospital Dr. Deepak Namjoshi released an official statement that read, “Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight.”

Bappi Da is very well known as the Disco King of the ’80s and ’90s. The late singer gave massive hit tracks to the industry, especially for his widely popular songs for films such as Namak Halaal, Disco Dancer, and Dance Dance. Recently Bappi Da had crooned songs such as Ooh La La for The Dirty Picture, Tune Maari Entriyaan for Gunday, Tamma Tamma for Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and more recently, Areey Pyar Kar Le for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. He last composed the song Bhankas for the 2020 movie Baaghi 3.
