Smita Talwalkar – The Veteran Marathi Actress Is No More

Smita Talwalkar passes away

Smita Talwalkar, the veteran actor from Marathi cinema is no more in this mortal world. She passed away at the age of 59 yesterday in Mumbai while fighting for the menace called Ovarian Cancer. As per reports, she was admitted at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai for her cancer treatment, however, couldn’t defy the menace leaving behind many of her near ones and well wishers behind. Being acclaimed far and wide for her incredible performances in difference movies like Tu Tithe M, Chavkat Raja and Saat Chya Aat Gharat. She even conferred with country’s highest honor in contributing the film world by getting National Film Awards as producer for the movie called Kalat Navkalat in 1989 and Tu Tithe Mee in 1998.

Apart from being a seasoned actress, she was also involved in health and fitness club called Talwalkars in India. The Prime Minister, Mr. Modi has also express his condolences on her death and called it a bigger loss to Marathi Movie World, while the Maharashtra CM also expressed tribute on his micro-blogging site – Twitter wherein he called her as a versatile actor and director and expressed his anguish on her demise. The entire Marathi Cinema fraternity has expressed their grievance on her death and claimed that her absence would create a vacuum in Marathi movies.
