Disha Vakani, who plays Dayaben in the longest-running TV drama Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been missing from the show since September 2017. Disha Vakani went on maternity leave in September 2017, never coming back.
Since giving birth to her daughter, Dayaben has remained silent on whether or not she will return to the show. After a year, speculations are circulating that Disha Vakani has decided to leave the show, which has come as a great shock to fans.
Disha, on the other hand, has been given a 30-day notice period or she will be replaced in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, according to various media sources. But there is much conjecture about whether Disha would return, Shailesh Lodha, who plays Taarak Mehta in the show, said in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla that fans will have to wait a while to find out if Dayaben will return. During the Indian Telly Awards 2019, the actor addressed the issue.
