Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala

Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya is all set make her digital debut with this special character role of playing a chef in Alt Balaji’s Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala. Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala is all about the sweet and spicy love story, featuring the glamorous and very beautiful Divyanka Tripathi and the handsome hero, Rajeev Khandelwal in the lead, is all set to release on September 3 on Alt Balaji and Zee5 simultaneously.

The upcoming web series is already quite anticipated and interested by the audiences as audiences aren’t able to resist the lead pair’s chemistry and the interesting storyline. Besides, TV’s favourite bahu Ishita aka Divyanka is going to appear in a pretty glamorous avatar for the very first time for this show.

Divyanka will be playing as Nitya, a chef, who falls in love and romances another chef Vikram, played by Rajeev Khandelwal. The story of the web series goes around their love story spanning for eight years. The two fall in love as students but, falls apart, and then finally meet again after eight years.

Divyanka Tripathi, while talking in an exclusive interview with a major news platform, shared a lot about her work in this web series for the first time. She also shared her rigorous sacrifice about sacrificing her long and luscious hair and loosing oodles of weight for looking a part of the show.
Divyanka also opened up on getting the “heroine wala feel for the first time,” and how she worked on her chemistry with Rajeev Khandelwal in the series. And last, but not the least, Divyanka finally cleared the air around the rumours of her show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein going off air.

Talking about her digital debut with Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala on a prime media platform, she said, “I have been doing television for the past 13 years. And generally on television, we keep doing the same kind of stuff. I have been lucky enough to land the role of Ishita a dentist, but then after so many years, I wanted to do something different. Luckily, I got this offer to star as a chef in Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala.”

She further added, “Working in web series is different from TV shows, as in soaps, there is ample time to develop a character. Over a  period of time, people start liking you. You don’t have that advantage in web series as people ought to like you in the first episode.

So we had to work really hard on my look, character sketch, and everything. Even behind the camera, Pradeep dada, the director, Ravi dada, the cameraman, all of them have passionately created this web series. When you work so hard on a project which is finite, you just wait for the result anxiously. It becomes so precious because the journey is so precious.”

Sharing her reaction about her first time appearance in a glamorous avatar in Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, she said, “A lot of people including my family, my husband and my well-wishers wanted me to be hot and glamorous on screen. Basically, they wanted to see me in a different space. All this while, I wasn’t getting the right opportunity. When I got it, I worked hard to look the part. The story was shot in the span of eight years, and for the younger part, I had to shed oodles of weight. I even had to cut my hair for that. Mere liye mushkil tha baal katana. I had this long and silky hair. Even fans were unhappy when I got the hair cut because they loved my hair. But I couldn’t tell them the reason. I did a lot of effort to look different and that has paid off, I guess.”

Talking about her struggle with the weight loss regime, Divyanka said, “The right kind of workout, proper diet plans and Vivek’s (Divyanka’s husband and TV actor) motivation helped me achieve this goal. Vivek is a very fitness-conscious person. I left it to him to guide me through the process and he made this journey super-easy.”
