Review
On the face of it, the film reminds us of the Hollywood film Pac-Man, but the makers have further taken forward the film on a different note rather than taking on the arcade game. The film is all about a young lady who is passionate about playing different games. She is the victim of nyctophobia, which came to her only when she was struck with a personal tragedy and thus makes herself aloof from everyone except coming close to the gaming world. The makers are wise enough to pick up an interesting topic, which makes not just our urban teenagers but others also making them end their lives in a game defeat.
With interesting topic addressed right on time, we have Taapsee Pannu striking the right chord with her incredible performance playing a young lady who is passionate about games leaving everything aside. Taapsee is back in Telugu films after four years and this film comes with a bang. The others too have done a decent job playing different roles in it. Talking about the direction part, Ashwni seems to have done a wonderful job in bringing out a tightly packaged movie. The other elements like music, photography, screenplay, and editing seemed good and have helped to boost up the entertainment value of the film.
Game over The Last Word
The psychological thriller called Game over is a nicely packaged film having a competent balance between the two – with first half seemed a bit longer and the second part remains racy and crisp. The film addresses the modern day issue of kids and teenagers going wilder with games and even ending up their lives. The film has many layers mainly the psychological and paranormal and the makers have tried to create a fine balance in their own ways. This makes the film worthy to watch, which makes us give the film a higher rating.
