The Significance of Netflix’s ‘Lust Stories 2’ as an Anthology in the Modern Era

We tend to remember the stories that we can relate to the most. Perhaps it’s because we feel seen, or because we realize that we’ve come out of watching something a better, more understanding person. Lust Stories 2 is an anthology that does just that. It’s relatable, it’s thought-provoking, and it deals with important subjects that we need to talk about more. While the anthology may not be as groundbreaking as its predecessor, it does address issues such as patriarchy, female gaze, premarital sex, marital rape, class divide, and domestic abuse.

We can call Lust Stories 2 to be an effective anthology, which comes the way it is. It seems so relatable, and even thought-provoking, while we see it dealing with several vital elements and  subjects when we tend to talk about more. One may not find the anthology to be groundbreaking as the first part, you still see it addressing many more vita issues if our society. These include patriarchy, female gaze, marital rape,  premarital sex, dosmetic abuse, and class divide, to name a few. 

Digging deep, one can find too many more things about it.  Lust Stories 2 is a sequel to the 2018 anthology Lust Stories. The anthology consists of four short films, each directed by a different woman filmmaker. The series explores a variety of themes related to sex, desire, and relationships. The films have been praised for their honesty, humor, and thought-provoking content. The films have also been criticized for their graphic depictions of sex and violence. Despite the criticism, Lust Stories 2 has been a commercial success. The anthology has helped to start important conversations about sex and relationships in India.
