Karni Sena seeks a ban on Akshay Kumar’s historical drama ‘Prithviraj’, Karni Sena moves to Allahabad HC!

Prithviraj is an upcoming Indian historical action drama film directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king from the Chahamana dynasty. The film starred Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan, and Manushi Chhillar is making her debut in Bollywood as Sanyogita. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari.

Akshay’s Prithviraj is getting into trouble. Recently The Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha initiated a protest demanding the change of title of the movie Prithviraj. People were protested in Chandigarh and burned the effigy of the actor. And now the court order came on Thursday on public interest litigation (PIL) seeking a ban on the release of the film. The court has fixed the hearing for the case in the week commencing February 21.

The plea states that respondents have tried to defame, degrade the historical warrior Hindu king who had sacrificed his life for sake of the safety and security of Hinduism.

Further, the plea also objects to the attire worn by the actress Manushi Chillar who is playing the role of queen Sanyogita in the movie.

In 2017, the Karni Sena had mounted a strong protest against ‘Padmavati, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Deepika Padukone and also made the makers change the title to ‘Padmavat’ from ‘Padmavati’.
