Pathaan Story

The plot of Pathaan is filled with patriotic sentiments. John Abraham, as rogue agent Jim, is on a mission to seek revenge against India. It all begins when India abandons Article 370, prompting Pakistan to devise evil plans for capturing Kashmir. Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan) takes responsibility for stopping Jin. Suddenly, he is distracted by a beautiful mess, Rubina Khan ( Deepika Padukone), who introduces herself as an ISI agent, and trust issues crop up. Is she a friend or foe? How will Pathaan save India from the evil deeds of Jin? You will have to watch the entire film to know!

Pathaan Review

While both intervals will manage to engage you with plenty of drama, twists, and turns, the second half of this film wins over the first half. The action sequences sometimes lack logic, but that’s OK. After all, it’s not a documentary. What works for the fight sequences is that Siddharth Anand has scripted action scenes between SRK and John very well. You won’t just see a jet plane flash from the sky or cars scream from the ground. The entire action-packed Dhamaka in the film is gutsy and valiant.

We all know Siddharth Anand’s directing skills when it comes to action movies. He has done a decent job of presenting his lead, SRK. The background music during his introduction was simply WOW. Pathaan also does justice to its pace by moving ahead quite faster. I cannot forget to mention the special action scenes filmed on the frozen lake and on the train. Amid the patriotism, action, and a pinch of thrill, Salman Khan’s cameo will leave you amazed. The bromance between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan reminds me of Karan and  Arjun, and we have more to see in Tiger 3, right?

The film is also not behind Race 3 and Cocktail when it comes to Deepika Padukone’s glamorous avatar. She mesmerises with her killer looks. We have watched Deepika and SRK romance each other in many films, and their sparkling chemistry in Pathaan is another treat for the viewers. John Abraham plays the villainous role with utmost ease, and I guess nobody else could have played it better. All in all, Siddharth Anand has been successful in crafting a worthy blockbuster film.

Pathaan Review: CT Verdict

As expected, the film deserves to be called one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. A mass entertainer is delivered as promised, and it won’t be a waste considering watching Pathaan in theatres. Spending on tickets would undoubtedly be worthwhile. Watch it if you are an SRK fan, love spy thrillers, or like a blast of entertainment.
