Neeti Mohan fondly known as Neeti is a among the popular Indian singers. She hails from Rajasthan wherein she was born and brought up. She went to Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani, and Rajasthan for her schooling, and then headed to Delhi to her graduation. She graduated from Miranda House in New Delhi in philosophy and even worked as a dance instructor during her college days. She was also the cadet of NCC during her college days and participated in a number of activities in it as well. Her elder sisters Shakti Mohan and Mukti Mohan have been known in the creative world by winning Dance India Dance on Zee TV and in Zara Nachke Dikha on Star Plus respectively.
She made her debut in Bollywood with the movie called Student Of The Year singing the song Ishq Wala Love along with Shekhar and Salim Merchant. The song gave her recognition in B Town turning out to be the among the top songs in the list of chartbusters. This gave her next venture – the song of Jab Hai Jaan called Jiya Re, which was again a big hit among the list of other songs in the movie. This gave her a number of nominations and fewer awards for the same at a number of award functions. She then got the song called Saadi Gali Aaja for the movie Nautanki Sala along with Ayushman Khurana. Again it was among the big hit among the youth. Though she didn’t knew Punjabi, however, for this song, she had to rehearse a lot to get the right accent, which eventually made the song the biggest hit of 2013.
Later she got the chance to sing the song Nazar Laaye for the movie called Raanjhanaa in opposite to Rashid Ali while for the movie Chennai Express, she sang the song Kashmir Main Tu Kanyakumari along with Sunidhi Chauhan and Arjit Singh. The movie from Chennai Express made her again popular over the top Bollywood singers, since was both critically and commercially turned a big hit. The year 2014 started with the song Tune Maari Entriyaan from the movie Gunday, which garnered mixed response from the critics but was among the popular ones in the list of Chartlist. The nest was the song called Dard Dilo Ke from the movie Xpose followed by the song Caller Tune from the movie called Humshakals, which again turned a big hit among the youth.
As far as the awards are concerned, she was nominated for a couple of songs but could win for four times. These include the Filmfare award for the song Ishq Wala Love from the movie Student Of the Year, Jiye Re from the movie Jab Hai Jaan, Mirchi Music Awards for Jiya Re from Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and again the same song made a winner over the LIVE Quotient Awards. She is single still and lives in Mumbai after becoming a successful playback singer. Apart from singing, she also was seen doing a supporting actress role opposite Abhay Deol in the movie called Socha Na Tha.
