Veteran Actor Tom Alter, Loses battle against cancer

The veteran film and theater actor Tom Alter lost has lost his prolonged battle against the skin cancer in Bombay Last night and he was 67. He was fighting with the dreaded disease at Bombay Hospital that has reached to its fourth stage is no more in this mortal world. He was seen taking his last breath on Friday Night. The family released the statement and claimed to have the saddest day of their life. The veteran actor was awarded Padma Shri for his exceptional contribution in the world of acting in films, TV shows and theater. He was 67 when he lost his life.

Earlier, his Jamie had informed the media that his actor father was suffering from the dreaded disease called the squamous cell carcinoma, which is a kind of skin cancer. He informed that last year, the actor’s thumb was amputated owing to this medical condition. He was seen with the fight and showing good signs of it last year. The actor has been known in the media for giving good performances for TV shows like Bharat Ek Khoj, Zabaan Sambhalke, Betaal Pachisi and , Junoon. The actor was from the US but has settled down in India for his theater and acting career in India.

Some of the plays in which he was known include many along with his silver screen ventures like Gandhi, Kranti, Aashiqui, Parinda and Shatranj Ke Khilari. In the year 2008, he was given the most prestigious award called Padma Shri, which happens to be the fourth highest civilian honor of India. There were many in the B Town who were seen mourning his death, which include Singer Mohit Chauhan, Riteish Deshmukh, Arju Kapoor, Nimrat Kaur, and many more. All actors were seen saying in chorus about his humility and kindness and recounted their memories with the actor.
