Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2: CBFC Mutes ‘Beti Bachao’ in the film, Grants Film an ‘A’ Certificate

Get ready for the highly anticipated release of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 this Friday, April 19. Over the past few weeks, there has been a buzz surrounding the film, with rumors circulating about the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) requesting several cuts. At the recent trailer launch, director Dibakar Banerjee hinted at some of the modifications made to the film. To start off, the duration of the disclaimer at the beginning of the film was extended by 10 seconds. Additionally, a 20-second-long disclaimer highlighting legal safeguards for transgender individuals from sexual offenses was inserted, as per the CBFC’s instructions.

Furthermore, any obscene words that appeared in the film, including in the song lyrics, were muted. In the second half of the film, the words ‘Beti Bachao’ were also muted. Lastly, the image of the National Flag was asked to be blurred.

After implementing these changes, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 was granted an ‘A’ certificate by the CBFC. The certificate states that the film has a length of 116 minutes, which translates to a runtime of 1 hour and 56 minutes.

During the trailer launch, Dibakar Banerjee expressed his surprise at the smooth censor experience for Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. He revealed that they had applied for an adults-only certificate and the CBFC only requested the muting of certain expletives. In a witty exchange, Banerjee asked the CBFC if he could use expletives aimed at fathers, to which they responded, “Keep your mother, father, and sister separate from expletives!”

Banerjee further explained that the film contains a specific set of expletives that were retained, while another set was muted. He also mentioned that the film features frontal nudity in the climax, but due to the restrictions on shooting frontal nudity in Indian films, the visuals were blurred.

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 boasts an ensemble cast including Swastika Mukherjee, Abhinav Singh, Bonita Rajpurohit, and Paritosh Tiwari in lead roles. Additionally, Mouni Roy, Tusshar Kapoor, Anu Malik, Sophie Choudry, and Uorfi Javed make special appearances in the film.
