Yodha Box Office Debut: Sidharth Malhotra’s Film Impresses, Opens with Over ₹4 Crore Collection on Day 1 in India

Yodha, starring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role, had a successful opening at the Indian box office on its first day. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the action-packed film grossed ₹4.25 crore nett in India. Directed by debutant duo Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, Yodha also features Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in prominent roles. The film is a high-octane action thriller that follows Arun Katyal, the commanding officer of the Yodha Task Force, on an intense rescue mission. Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan serve as producers.

The Hindustan Times review of the film was critical, stating that Yodha offers nothing new with its clichéd interpretation of the Kashmir issue and terrorism. The review expressed disappointment with the film’s lack of originality and missed opportunities to explore interesting plot twists. However, it did acknowledge a brief suggestion of the hero going rogue as a ray of hope. The film then focuses on solving its own puzzle, providing a surface-level experience. The review also questioned the plausibility of the aeronautical explanations and Sidharth’s ability to fight under challenging circumstances.

During a promotional event in Delhi, Sidharth emphasized that Yodha is a completely fictional story, allowing for creative liberties to be taken. He mentioned that the film introduces a new task force called Yodha, which allowed for variations and different action sequences compared to his previous film, Shershaah. Sidharth described Yodha as a more energetic, leaner, and commercially entertaining film with his best action sequences of the past decade.
